The 21st century seems to conspire against our health with fast food, environmental toxins and stress all taking their toll. Good nutrition is important for emotional and physical health - the body affects the mind just as much as the mind affects the body.
This is why nutritional coaching and therapy are so important. By looking at your eating habits to see which foods might be causing your symptoms - such as lethargy, headaches, moodiness, depression, anxiety, bloating, IBS, ADHD, candida, fatigue, food sensitivites, hormone imbalances, insomnia, skin complaints, stress and weight problems, alternatives can be recommended to bring your body back into balance.
Nutritional Coaching and Therapy
My approach blends an in-depth consultation, holistic nutrition, with support from Asyra Pro ™ bioenergetics technology. I take a whole person approach - looking at lifestyle, health history, current challenges and emotional as well as psychological factors with a healthy dose of practical common sense to encourage the best possible conditions for you to enjoy a full and healthy life.
Nutritional coaching teaches you about healthy eating. Nutritional therapy looks at what foods are going to be best for you considering your particular health challenges. This is why a combination of nutritional coaching and therapy is going to have the strongest impact for you.
This naturopathic route enables the whole body-mind to benefit so you can enjoy a sense of empowerment of your health and your life.

Let food be your medicine
Over 2000 years ago Hippocrates, an ancient Greek physician and one of the most respected figures in the history of medicine, said "Let food by your medicine and let medicine be your food". I know in myself, while I normally follow the 80/20 rule (80% of my food is healthy), when that balance tilts too much in the wrong direction, I pay the price in many ways. My clients say the same. So, take control now. Through nutritional coaching and therapy you can take more control of your health.
Remember that health is much more than an absence of disease. My comprehensive approach, over time, will help you to achieve and maintain optimum health.
Areas of specialisation are:
Chronic Fatigue
Fatigue can be an occasional problem, an irritating undercurrent or full on chronic fatigue. Whatever degree of fatigue you experience, it can have negative consequences in all areas of your life. Chronic fatigue is particularly frustrating because it has no definitively identified cause or origin and no specific laboratory test or biomarker to diagnose it, but that doesn't change the impact it has on you. Symptoms include persistent fatigue not related to effort, not relieved by resting, and accompanied by other symptoms for six months including poor memory or concentration, physical or mental exertions bring on extreme, prolonged exhaustion or sickness, unrefreshing sleep, muscle pain, pain in multiple joints, headaches of a new kind or greater severity, sore throat, tender lymph nodes, irritable bowel, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhoea, bloating, chills and night sweats, brain fog, chest pain, shortness of breath, chronic cough, visual disturbances (blurring, sensitivity to light, pain), allergies or sensitivities to foods, alcohol, odours, chemicals, medications or noise, difficulty remaining upright. It threatens your health, happiness and ability to perform as you would like. If you suffer from chronic fatigue, or it's cousin, ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), call for a consultation now.
In the meantime, my latest book may be of help Ultimate Energy: From tired to inspired.
IBS
Digestive disorders may very well be the most universally shared discomfort in the human experience with most people having suffered at one time or another. IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is arguably the most common and the cause can be either organic (able to be seen in biopsies, x-rays or other medical tests) or functional (where the cells of the body are normal but they ways they function are abnormal. This makes them no less severe but frustrating for the suffererer because doctors are unable to determine the cause through conventional medical means. They can be considered a function of the gut-brain interaction: this does not mean that the problem is "all in your head" but that your gastrointestinal system is the way your body expresses dis-stress. If your symptoms are worse when you are stressed, it is likely to fall within this category. In my experience, most people who come to me for help, fall within this category and respond really well to my approach.
Symptoms consists of any of the following symptoms: indigestion, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating, belching, wind, abdominal pain, nausea and tiredness. It can have numerous causes, including diet, poor enzyme function, gastro-intestinal imbalances and stress. By getting to the cause, a program can be developed to get your body back in balance.
Weight Loss
Many factors can contribute to difficulty in losing weight and keeping it off. Diet, gastro-intestinal imbalances, metabolic disturbance and hormonal imbalances can all affect you as can emotional eating. My The Only Weigh ™ approach even help you to understand what emotional factors may be causing you to overeat. From the results, a unique program can be designed to help you lose weight safely.
Stress, Anxiety and Depression
We all suffer one or all of these from time to time. But too much for too long hinders your ability to function effectively and to enjoy life. It can be disabling with a negative impact on family, work, school, sleep, eating, self-esteem and overall general health. You may experience one of them, or all of them as they are often linked. The degree to which you experience them will vary too. In extreme cases it can even lead to burnout, breakdown or suicide. For this reason, getting help sooner rather than later is extremely important: they respond well to my integrative approach which address the psychological, lifestyle, emotional and biological factors so that you have the best chance to overcome these debilitating conditions. You will be supported every step of the way.
