Same choices, same results. We are nearing the end of the month where 95% of resolutions are broken. For most, this will cause feelings of frustration, powerlessness and perhaps guilt.
The problem is that people resolve to make a change but continue with the same choices. And, of course, with the same choices you get the same results.
So, if you have veered off track, reconnect with why you made the resolution in the first place. Otherwise it’s same choices, same results. So, what was the result you were looking for? A lot of people focus on the process of getting the result, rather than the result itself. Processes have far less appeal than a result. Let’s take an example:
Process: Stop eating sugar
Result: Be slim and healthy
Your unconscious mind aligns itself much more easily to a result than a process and will marshal your energy towards achieving it. Which, in this example, will include not eating sugar, amongst other things.
When you focus on what you don’t want, your mind centres on that so that it becomes an obsession which you need to resist continuously. It’s a lot of hard work – no wonder people give up.
Focus instead on the result you want and the choices which will help you achieve it will be a whole lot easier.
And, if you really want to power through your commitments to yourself, working with a coach and using hypnotherapy can make all the difference. Get in touch to find out more. You’ll be glad you did. Your choices give you the best chance for achieving change.
